Equipment and add-ons
These are two different Studio Hub tabs that many people mix up. Equipment is your inventory — what you have in the studio. Add-ons are the extras the client picks when finalizing a booking. This article explains each one and when to use which.
Equipment (Gear)
Section titled “Equipment (Gear)”The Equipment tab is your inventory catalog. It’s where you list mixing consoles, microphones, monitors, instruments, and everything else that’s part of your studio.
For each item you can set:
- Photos of the equipment.
- Status — to track what’s available, in maintenance, etc.
- Rental — make the item available for rent (a feature of the indie plan and above).
- Listing on the Equipment Market — put the item up for sale to other studios and professionals on the platform.
Rental and sale
Section titled “Rental and sale”Beyond serving as a showcase of what you have, equipment can become an extra source of revenue:
- Rental (indie+ plans): make items available for rent.
- Equipment Market: list items for sale and reach other professionals on the platform.
See only what’s up for rent
Section titled “See only what’s up for rent”On the Gear tab, next to the Status and Category filters, there’s a Rental filter: All, For rent and Not for rent. With 40-odd items on file, it’s the fast way to answer “what do I actually have available to rent?” without opening them one by one.
Add-ons
Section titled “Add-ons”The Add-ons tab is for the items and extras the client books at checkout, at the moment of finalizing a booking. These are things like:
- A drink or snack.
- Additional equipment.
- A service fee.
Each add-on has a unit price and stock. At checkout, the client picks the add-ons they want, and the amount is automatically added to the booking total.
When to use each one
Section titled “When to use each one”The difference is simple:
- Use Equipment for your fixed inventory — the studio’s assets, what you display in the showcase, rent, or sell.
- Use Add-ons for the extras of each booking — consumables, fees, and add-ons the client picks at checkout.
A microphone that’s part of the studio is Equipment. A bottle of water or a service fee charged per session is an Add-on.
