Using the Workspace
The Workspace is where all the work happens: a place just for you and the client to track the project, from start to final payment.
The header
Section titled “The header”At the top you’ll see the project’s #FMG reference and the client’s name. Each project has its own unique reference — use it to stay organized.
The project flow
Section titled “The project flow”The project goes through clear stages:
- Deposit — you click Request Deposit. The default is 50% of the total, but the percentage is configurable per gig. The client receives the payment link; once they pay, the project becomes In Progress and you get started.
- In progress — log expenses and the crew involved. Everything stays transparent for the client.
- Final payment — all done? Click Request final payment. The amount already accounts for balance + expenses + crew.
- Completed — once the client pays the final amount, the project becomes Completed and is locked: nothing more can be changed, and it’s saved to the history.
Talking to the client
Section titled “Talking to the client”The Workspace has a built-in chat — that’s where you and the client sort everything out, without having to jump to WhatsApp or email on the side. Every file, payment request, and tweak shows up as a card in the middle of the conversation, so it all stays in one place.
The best part: you don’t need to keep the tab open. When you send a message in the chat, the client gets it on WhatsApp right away, with the message text — and they can reply right there by typing: the reply lands straight in the project thread, not a bot. It works both ways. If the conversation is active (you’ve exchanged messages in the last few hours) the alert goes as a normal message; if it’s been a while, it goes as a nudge pulling them back to the Workspace.
And the moments that matter — requesting files, charging the deposit, charging the final payment, delivering the result — go out by email and WhatsApp at the same time, always with a direct link for the client to act on. You don’t send anything by hand.
Audio work? Track Review
Section titled “Audio work? Track Review”When the service is audio (mix, master, editing, production), the Workspace shows Track Review: the client listens to the preview in the player, leaves time-stamped recalls, and approves right there. Approval unlocks the final charge and, once paid, the high-res files (WAV/stems) unlock.
- Track Review — versions, recalls, replies, and multi-track projects.
- Project Files & escrow — the player, files held in escrow, and what downloads when.
Secure payment
Section titled “Secure payment”The payment links are generated by FindMyGig itself, and the client receives them by email and WhatsApp. You don’t need to send anything manually.
